Alvin Kinney,

January 2, 1950 - February 1, 2013

Alvin Eugene Kinney Jr, known to many as "Al" or "Jr" of Denton, TX passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the age of 63. He was born in Sweetwater, TX to parents, Alvin and Wanda (Carter) Kinney SR. He was married to Carolyn Kay Gaddis on November 3, 1974. Mr. Kinney graduated from Sterling City High School, then Angelo State University. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He was a Federal Law Officer for the Customs and Border Protection for the last 22 years. Mr. Kinney was currently attending the Towne North Baptist Church in Denton. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and being in the outdoors which included hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed shooting his guns. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and gentle nature. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.   A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Denton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2pm at the Denton Funeral Home Chapel. Ken Gray will officiate.   Survivors include his wife, Carol Kinney; mother, Wanda Kinney of Denton; daughters, Tiffany Kinney of Houston, and Tinél Kinney of Denton; step-son, Bud Kinney of Keller; brother, Buddy Kinney and wife, Mindy of Justin; parents-in-law, James and Lola Gaddis of Hermleigh, TX; brothers-in-law, Charles Gaddis of Hermleigh, TX, Robert Gaddis of Midland, TX, and Jimmy Gaddis of San Angelo, TX; sister-in-law, Trina Simmons of Hermleigh, TX; grandchildren, Victoria Kinney, Christina Kinney, Nathanial Hood, and Brayden Kinney; and numerous extended family members and friends.   He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Eugene Kinney Sr.
