Lisa Anne Moore

June 4, 1959 - February 8, 2018

Lisa Anne Moore (58) of Denton, TX, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away on February 8, 2018 after a brief illness related to diabetes. She was born in Omaha, NE on June 4, 1959 to Marjorie Crowe Moore and Dwight V. Moore. She grew up and was educated in Council Bluffs, IA. Lisa attended the University of Iowa where she majored in English and was a participant in the prestigious Iowa Writer’s Workshop. She moved to Texas in 1982 and quickly found work in the hospitality industry at Ratcliffe’s Continental Seafood restaurant where she was assistant manager. From there she moved on to manage 1717, the fine dining room in the Dallas Museum of Art, for most of the 1990’s. She would remain in the restaurant and catering business in the Dallas area for the rest of her life working over the years with several outstanding catering companies including George Catering, Wendy Krispin Caterer and Cassandra Fine Catering. She is survived by father Dwight Vincent of Flower Mound, TX; sister Kathleen Moore Cunningham and husband Warren of Argyle, TX; nephew Vincent V. Cunningham of Argyle, TX; former husband Juan Carlos Salazar of Carrollton, TX; and, her Newfoundland dog Piper. We will remember our much-loved ‘Lisa Loopner’ for her gracious character, poignant prose and genuine love for her friends, family and canine companions. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 1200 North Elm Street, Denton, TX, with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Newf Rescue or charity of your choice.
