Mr. William Joseph Tilton, II

December 23, 1948 - June 8, 2016

William Joseph Tilton II, of Denton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. He was born December 23, 1948 in Newton, Iowa to William Joseph Tilton I, and Virginia Rutledge Tilton. Bill was a member of the Catholic faith. He enlisted to the United States Navy in 1969 and served faithfully for over 22 years being honorably discharged as a Chief Warrant Officer II. Bill was currently employed with FEMA and was highly regarded by all he worked with. He truly loved his job and all of the wonderful people he worked with. Mr. Tilton is survived by his wife, Penny Wade of Denton; two sons, Shannon William Tilton (Merlie) of Las Vegas, NV, Dustin Blake Tilton and daughter, Melanie Colleen Tilton Spaulding (Mitty), both of Denton; step sons Charles and David Wade; and his most special grandsons Dylan Spaulding and David J. Wade; his siblings, Jolene Tilton Huss, Michael D. Tilton, Renee Tilton Harvey, Lezlie Tilton Foreman, and Theresa Tilton Liles; many very dear and special nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many special friends! He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Richard K. Tilton. Special thanks to the staff of Denton Oncology Center and Mike at Dr. Rama’s office. I cannot express our gratitude to Stella Ahanotu, Jose Fernandez, Stacey Loika, Victor Vaughn, Kacey, and Owen Buntyan all of Heart to Heart Hospice. Father Khiem Nguyen of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for administering the sacrament and kind works spoken to the family. We will forever cherish the Hospice folks and Father Nguyen for making Bill’s last day so very, very special. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, June 25 2016, 5:00 pm at the Denton Optimist Gym, 3100 North Elm Street, Denton, Texas. Friends and coworkers are invited to share this special time with us. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation of your choice to, preferably a Veterans organization.
